About the artist... John, a long-time resident of Hanover, Massachusetts, earned his BA at Bridgewater State College with a concentration in Fine Arts. He enrolled in a pastel class instructed by Liz Haywood-Sullivan and completed a workshop by Albert Handell and Anita Louise West. John is a member of numerous art societies and his works have won awards and honorable mentions. His paintings have been sold to individual clients as well as art galleries in the South Shore region. He spent his career illustrating and designing in the graphics art industry after graduating from the New England School of Art in Boston. A few words from the artist...As a New England landscape painter I'm blessed with and challenged by the various colors of the four seasons, and my ultimate goal is to capture those seasonal moods, whether it's by outdoor painting or indoor studio painting. Pastels are my choice of mediums because of the immediacy offered. Mentors and instructors have been instrumental in guiding me to experiment with mixed media, edit my compositions, and create harmony and balance within my design. |
